It took my breath away...

Etsy... It's my favorite place for browsing and getting ideas. Months ago I ran across this abstract artist that is absolutely amazing. She does all sorts of colorful poured pieces. I watch many amazing pieces come and go. Jake and I decided that we would like to purchase one for our home. However, none of the pieces that she had shuffled through seemed quite right for me. Until I saw this one yesterday and it took my breath away.

Consider it purchased 15 minutes after it was posted. I love how this is going to look w/ my cute red couch. I have also been excited to add more color to that room then just red white and black. So... I have been looking for a hutch, sideboard, cabinet to add to our family room to organize our media boxes and hide the cords they come with. I have been searching for a couple months now because I wanted something I could repaint and that was a cheap DIY.

Turns out yesterday was my day, because not only did I get my painting. I bought for 10$ this perfect piece that I will repaint yellow to put in our family room. I know it doesn't look like much now, but I have big plans for this thing!

After this gets done it's just completing the room w/ crazy things I find to put in the room. And last but not lease some Curtains to replace those vertical blinds.

Let's see... What else is new?

Jake got his motorcycle up and running just in time for the 6 inches of snow this morning. Yesterday I came home from work and he was fixing his bike, it needed a new battery. We have always teased that it's his other girlfriend, her name is Alexis... I'm started to think this was less funny when I went to kiss him and realized he was staring at that bike of his, while kissing me. But, it is beautiful so it's hard to beat that thing...

School still sucks. I hate that I always feel like there is much to do. I would like to have some time to do absolutely nothing at all. How grand would that be? Aww...

Well, at least I'm producing some good work this semester. This was my second project ever using after effects. I am really loving the whole Motion Graphics thing. Making things move bring another sense of life to them that can be hard to accomplish in print design.

Ohhh! Some terrific news, Jake and I are going to be getting a new baby niece in July. His sister Mindy found out a little bit ago. I am so excited to have another niece and so happy that Mindy is going to be getting a little princess.

Also coming up in July I get to meet my new brother-in-law Luke whom I have never met before. He has been on a mission to New Zealand and will be coming home in July so I am so excited because I have heard that he is rather fantastic.

Shortly after that my little brother Mason and Jakes little brother Zack will be leaving for their missions. So I guess we better enjoy those guys while we have the chance.

That's all for now!!

Summer Can't Come Soon Enough..

This week we got a bit of summer flavor. I was able to hang around outside the school doing homework and not freeze my butt off. My energy seemed to come back! Valentines day has come and gone and it was a lovely day. I had school and work from 9-9 and Jake had work till 5 so we were both pretty busy we kept it simple with some extra special I love yous and cuddling and playing COD. It was us and just what I needed.

Jake and I got callings... We were both called to teach CTR-6. I'm excited! We both love little kids, but we're not ready for one o our own right now. So this will give us some interaction w/ the awesome kiddos. The best part is that we get to spend ALL 3 hours of church together. ;) I also got an additional calling of serving on the enrichment committee. Hopefully my school doesn't land in the middle of all the meetings. Either way it's good to be involved in our new ward.

Jake went back to the Dr. to get his blood tessted again. All prayers are that his numbers are down and that he'll be feeling 100% soon.

Anyways, that's our updates for now. Have a fantastic weekend all!

I'm a Quitter...

I have given up on the 30 day challenge for now, because I hate being told what I have to be creative about and since I'm in school I have had enough of following a schedule. I'm still going to try to blog often, but I would like to be able to choose what I blog about. Jake and I had an amazing super bowl weekend. Friday couldn't have come any sooner. My hubs has to eat gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, so I couldn't get home to finally make a real meal for that boy. Most of the food that you can cook for his diet takes forever and time is something I just don't have right now. So most the time my patient man is satisfied w/ chips and cheese for dinner. Jake was also a stud for stopping by while I was at school and getting gluten free pizza from pier 49. I can always count on my hubby to come through w/ a pizza, gluten free or not. So Friday I wanted to make something great for him. Apple pork chops is what I came up with. It's an apple pork chop w/ mashed potatoes. And the best part is that it's completely dairy free gluten free and sugar free.
Saturday we spent a nice day enjoying our free time together. And watched Social Network which we both found to be super interesting. Facebook me. Sunday it was up to my parents house for the superbowl where my mom made some amazing mexican food for the family that fit Jakes diet. Yesterday was my sister-in-laws birthday dinner so Jakes mom fed us then too. So we've been pretty busy and this week doesn't seem to be slowing down any. :)

Day 4. Wouldn't be here** without them...

Day 4: Your parents

My parents just happen to be the greatest ever. I honestly have been so blessed. My mom is the most caring person you'll ever meet and my dad is the funniest. Together they were the most supportive parents anyone could ask for. They were always at the sideline of my games and my mom and dad have always been my biggest fan. They are so accepting and understanding of some of the situations I have had to go through in my life. My mom is my best friend and helps me through everything and understands me better than I understand myself sometimes. She is quite the lady. My dad is my go to guy on anything from cars to medical issues to computer problems, the man knows everything. I am so thankful for how quickly they accepted Jake into the family (which isn't hard to do he's sooo awesome. ;) ) But I know it means a lot to Jake and I. I am so thankful for the role my parents played in my life. :)

Day 3...

Day 3: Your first love

My first love I would have to say is soccer.
Jakes first love is a triumph speed triple he got not that long ago. (I am sure he loved other things before but when the speed triple came along nothing seemed to matter anymore. ;)

Pictures of our loves:

(I added Jakes Hummer because I know he loves that too.)

& We love each other.

Day 2.

Day 2: Meaning behind your blog name

My blog name is "It's Love" Because it's mine and my husbands, and well, we're in love!
Because that wasn't eventful and exciting i'll share a quick story of how we fell in love.

Jake and I met in the singles ward while he was ward hoping. He asked me out right in the middle of Sunday school. Everything I had ever been against. But something about his charm made me say yes. Later that night I was over at his house and we saw each other for the next few days. That first weekend neither of us saw each other and then Monday we were back at it at FHE. We were both trying to play it cool but fell for each other really quick. He's my favorite person in this world and he makes it so easy to love him.
