Halloween terror!!!!

So Chelsey and I went to a haunted house last night and it was really fun and nice to get out and celebrate the halloween season! I have not seen Chelsey in a situation like this and she was holding up really well. Spook after spook jumped out and she only skwilled a little and i was impressed...... Then we came to the chain-saw's and i saw a  completely different side of Chelsey, as she started to scream i found out that she really has some impressive lungs so now as i am defend and confused cause i can't hear anything she started to jump/run away and i also had some insight into how quick she really is!!! It was a really fun night and i am really happy to know something new about Chels!!

I am a type snob.

I am a type snob and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Stretching fonts makes me cringe and papyrus should be destroyed. I strongly believe this. And I guess it shows that I have these feelings about typography. Keep in mind I have made some font mistakes in my past. It is true. But now I am educated in Typography and swear not to make those mistakes anymore. Today I came into work and received this email that just said. "I think you might enjoy this" I laughed out loud in my office. I showed the link to my mom who regrettably (I hope) informed me that she had made this mistake in the past. ;) Anyways, this seems like something I would do. Since I have wanted to do it to the handwritten signs hanging on the bathroom stalls. ;) Maybe I should. Making the work environment a better place... one sign at a time?

Lets see, what else is new. Jake and I got our engagement pictures taken on Saturday. I can't wait to see how they turn out. It was such an awkward experience to smooch while someone takes photos of it. But it was quite delightful to do something different with Jake. It's so much fun getting ready to marry him.

I submit my portfolio to the program on Wednesday, so I am trying to get all of that crap taken care of. Not so much fun.... :( But it will all work out I'm sure. Keep your fingers crossed that I get in so I don't have to stress about it anymore.

It's almost UEA weekend. Anyone have any fun ideas for Jake and I?

COD makes him look good.

Yesterday I captured Jake in some of his finest.. Call of Duty Moments. The poor kid has to put up with me interrupting his game all the time. I will plop myself right in front of his face and insist he pay attention to me right in the middle of his game. Good thing he's an awesome sport or he would be sick of me. However, one of my favorite things about the kid when he plays is the awesome faces he pulls. He gets the most intense look on his face and it's awesome. So yesterday, while he was playing, I busted out my computer and captured these faces.

This is Jakes... "I am playing COD & have no idea she's taking a picture face" Pretty cute I think..
This is him taking time out of his game to entertain the Camera and I...

This is when the camera started entertaining him.

And this is my favorite. he's soo handsome. And so focused. I know it's hard to believe sometimes, but usually that focused look is right on me. & it's fantastic.

Other weekend highlights...

We loved conference. It's always such a good weekend! Sunday sessions were fantastic and we watched the 2nd session with his family which was also fantastic.

Jake and I registered at Target. For just about everything... ha ha so those of you who are going to be taking a peak at our list... please forgive some of our more odd requests. Thankfully neither of us knew how to register or what to register for so if we liked it. We scanned it.

I turned in my letter for the BFA Graphic Design program at school. I procrastinated it. But it was as good as a letter like that is going to get. So cross your fingers and pray like crazy for me.

Lazy Saturday...

I always love when it's time for conference weekend. A sure fire way to ensure that you get a break from the normal busy Saturday. A fantastic excuse to roll out of bed in your pajamas and hang out enjoying the messages from our great church leaders. However, this conference weekend seems just a little sweeter because I get to spend it with my handsome soon to be hubbs! The first of many conferences we will spend watching from the comfort of my own home. It's such a small thing but sitting next to him while we listen to the amazing and spiritual messages of the church is a sweet rare but sweet break from day to day life.

So, I guess this means we like each other!

I had a boss at the company that I work for that use to stress how important it was to buy URLS. He encouraged me to buy chelseyellison.com (which ended up being brilliant!). Anyways, I came to the conclusion that Jake and I must really like each other if we are willing to put our names together in a URL. So, good for us. Anyways. We're engaged! It's been two weeks and it's fantastic! I can't wait to be married to my best friend!

ON A FRESH NOTE...
Jake had an EPIC Fail yesterday... and I thought I would share.

Yesterday Jake and I were driving back to his house from Baskin Robins and we were driving behind some scooter at night that had their lights off... Jake had to comment "What an idiot driving with his lights off. He's going to get pulled over so fast." I laughed because he's hilarious when he makes comments like that. No more than 30 seconds later we stop at a light. A yellow truck pulls up right next to me and tells me to roll down the window. So... hesitantly I do. The nice man in the yellow truck states the following. "Your lights are off." ----------- Bahaha. Jake flipped the lights on my car on so quick as I belted out the hardest laugh he has ever heard out of me. In his defense, he was driving my car, which is not near as fancy as his automatic lights on his hummer. You do actually have to turn them on. But still pretty epic.
